Your nervous system holds the key to your intuition and self-mastery.

Our bodies endure stressors on the reg. From traffic to trauma, we're constantly moving through some type of state of awareness that can easily be influenced by stress. If we are always in fight or flight mode and running on all cylinders in a constant state of survival, it tarnishes our ability to see and feel subtle energies around us. When this happens, it closes us off to being able to feel past our body's perimeter.

Our nervous system is responsible for both the red flags and gut checks we receive from the outer and inner world we cohabitate. It's our parasympathetic part that aids us in disconnecting from that stress and helps our bodies, both physical and subtle, down regulate and de-stress. When we do this, it's called nervous system regulation, and it allows us to stay at a state of homeostasis, or rather, a state of flow where we feel at ease instead of on edge or hyper - aware. We can do this by tapping into our resources, which are the tools we have to help us settle and reset. By using them and connecting with our Vagus Nerve (think of this as the Queen nerve of regulation), it allows us to step away from fight or flight and tap into a state of inner knowing.

There are many different ways to self - regulate, a go-to super simple way to subtly soothe your nervous system is allowing yourself to receive the Sun. As the days of Summer come to an end, take a second (or 5) to do some sun worshipping. Take a big, full body breath, let out an audible sigh, and raise your face to the sky allowing yourself to become aware of the warmth and energy it brings to you. A step in the journey to self mastery is allowing yourself the space to feel into the way tiny gestures create big impacts; tending to your nervous system is one of them.
